Description:
Tender steak bites seared in garlic butter pair perfectly with creamy, cheesy Alfredo shells pasta. This hearty dish combines rich flavors and simple ingredients for a restaurant-quality meal at home.
Origin:
Inspired by classic American steakhouse dishes and Italian Alfredo pasta, this fusion recipe brings bold steak flavors and creamy pasta comfort together.
Ingredients (Quantity):
For the Garlic Butter Steak Bites:
- 1 lb (450g) sirloin steak or ribeye, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Parmesan Alfredo Shells:
- 12 oz (340g) shell pasta
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: pinch of nutmeg
Instructions:
1. Cook Pasta:
Boil shells in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Cook Steak Bites:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season steak cubes generously with salt and pepper.
- Add steak to hot skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still juicy. Remove and set aside.
3. Make Garlic Butter:
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
- Return steak bites to the pan and toss to coat in garlic butter.
4. Prepare Alfredo Sauce:
- In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually whisk in Parmesan until sauce thickens and is smooth.
- Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if desired.
5. Combine:
- Toss cooked shells pasta with Alfredo sauce until evenly coated.
6. Serve:
- Plate Alfredo shells and top with garlic butter steak bites.
- Garnish with chopped parsley.
Tips for Success:
- Use high heat for a good sear on steak bites.
- Don’t overcrowd the pan to avoid steaming the meat.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best sauce texture.
- Let the Alfredo sauce simmer gently—avoid boiling to prevent curdling.
Recommendation:
Serve with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables. Pair with a bold red wine like Cabernet Sauvignon or a sparkling water with lemon.
